Monday

10:45 AM arrive New Orleans
A private bus will meet us at the airport.
Lunch at Piccadilly’s Diner, local favorite.

1:00 PM Touro Infirmary,
Private reception with Les Hirsch,President and CEO.

2:15 - 4:00 PM Katrina Tour of Devastation Gail Chalew
A volunteer from the New Orleans Jewish Federation.

4:00 - 5:15 PM Tulane University Discussion
of the Tulane-Katrina
experience and campus visit. Speaker: Yvette Jones, Tulane University
COO and VP for External Affairs

6:00 - 8:30 PM Dinner at a restaurant were we discuss churches
supporting churches with Reverend Dwight Webster

9:00 PM Check into the Garden District Hotel

6:30 - 7:45 AM Wake up and continental breakfast

8:00 AM depart to work site

8:30 AM Orientation and Spiritual Reflections
Uptown Storm Recovery Station
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM Work at site, lunch on site

5:00 - 6:30 PM Debriefing and discussion

7:00 PM Group Dinner Reservations: Mat & Natties, Uptown District
Guest Speakers: New Orleans Workers Center for Racial Justice (a
community grass-roots organization)

Wednesday

6:30 - 715 AM Wake up and continental Breakfast

8:00 AM depart for work site, lunch on site

8:30 AM - 3:30 PM work at Uptown Storm Recovery Station

5:00 - 6:30 PM Debriefing and discussion
Guest Speaker: Arnie Fielkow, President, New Orleans City Council

7:15 PM Dinner Reservations: Mulate’s

Thursday

7:00 - 8:00 AM Wake up and continental breakfast

8:30 AM depart for work site

9:00 - Noon Pack food at The Second Harvest Food Bank, 1201 Sams
Avenue. We will sort and pack donated food for distribution through out the
Gulf region.

12:30 - 3:30 PM Lunch and free time in French Quarter.

4:30 - 6:00 PM Debriefing and discussion.
Guest Speaker: Jessie Smallwood, the Deputy Director of the Office of
Recovery Management.

7:00 PM Farewell Banquet at Li’l Dizzy Café, 1500 Esplanade Avenue,
Guest Speakers: Gail Glickman, Chicago teacher who relocated to NOLA
and Cynthia Moore, Principal, New Orleans Free Academy

Friday

7:00 - 8:30 AM Wake up and continental breakfast
“Where We Go from Here” discussion

11:25 AM depart New Orleans.
