Funding Need for Volunteer Expeditions

Dear Supporters,
President Obama said, “Nothing is more powerful than when you enlist the skill and talent and passion of the American people on behalf of helping others.” In 2007, after I witnessed the devastation visited upon New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina, I created Volunteer Expeditions because I felt as our president feels – that when we work together, we can accomplish anything.
Devoted to social justice and motivated to give back to society in a practical yet compassionate way through volunteer service, advocacy and education, Volunteer Expeditions has had some meaningful successes in its brief life. But we are eager to do so much more, not only in New Orleans, but in stricken communities around the world. With your help, we can make a difference.
In Jamaica, for example, there is desperate need for aid in community organizing and student services. We have already begun discussions with those who would assist us. But we need your help. Without the necessary funding, our small grassroots organization, still in its infancy, cannot do everything that we’d like it to be able to do.
Won’t you please consider a donation of $50 or more? This amount would go a long way towards bringing about immediate, life-changing results for so many in both New Orleans and Jamaica. And imagine the feeling of knowing that with such little effort, you have personally helped to better the life of another!
Together we can do our part to “repair the world.” Help us continue our dream of rebuilding communities through volunteerism, connecting people through compassion and helping those who have lost so much to find some peace and dignity in their lives.
