ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAKS

Volunteer Expeditions now provides college community service and volunteer opportunities, including alternative spring breaks, for volunteer college students and high school students. Volunteers will assist the humanitarian efforts in New Orleans by rebuilding homes, working in food depositories and helping to rebuild the bayou. You can also volunteer in Washington, DC to help the homeless and hungry, in Trinidad and Tobago to preserve the environment, in Jamaica to work with children, and many more places with fantastic goals. We will provide all the essential elements, including transportation, hotels, meals, and entertainment. FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS

Our services help your congregation to achieve their spiritual goals of service learning, community engagement, and contribution. We help you make a difference by finding volunteer opportunities in community building and development as well as taking care of your travel and accommodation needs. We can also take you to religious services for your faith and/or others, bring in speakers, and work with you to make your service travel experience memorable and meaningful.

Volunteer Expeditions (a branch of Amizade) plans and organizes your group’s volunteer vacation. Whether you want to help rebuild New Orleans or take advantage of one of Amizade's many inspiring volunteer trips, we'll take care of the details. We’ll build your schedule to fit your needs and budget so you can focus on what really matters: helping others. Travel with your family, student organization, or faith-based or corporate group to an area that needs your help. We offer alternative spring break options, religious service learning trips and general volunteer travel.

Amizade is a nonprofit volunteer travel-planning service. Volunteer Expeditions is proud to become part of this incredible organization. We assist families, college students, corporate- or faith-based groups in bringing volunteer delegations to communities requesting assistance, such as New Orleans, Jamaica, Appalachia, DC, the Navajo Nation, and more. Our services make the planning easy and affordable. These community-building volunteer travel opportunities are focused on social change, social justice, and service learning. Each trip offers its own rewards and becomes a powerful experience. Travel with us any time of the year – recruiting volunteers is our ongoing goal!

OUR SERVICES CAN INCLUDE:

Arranging ground and air transportation
Presenting a broad selection of volunteer opportunities and communities in need of rebuilding
Identifying a selection of hotels
Supplying food on work sites and making restaurant reservations
Providing tours of the cities we visit
Arranging for visits and speaker presentations from universities, hospitals, journalists and community leaders

These services can be tailored to the time frame, budget and objectives of a visiting group. While some groups want adult experiences, others prefer family participation, and others yet take school groups ages twelve and up. We have worked with groups ranging in number from 10 to over 200, and we are equipped to handle even larger groups.

ABOUT AMIZADE

Amizade Global Service-Learning has been empowering individuals and communities through worldwide service and learning since 1994. Nearly 6,000 individuals have served with local community leaders in 12 countries on 4 continents with 16 partnerships. From working with women and girls on rainwater harvesting initiatives in rural Tanzania to running at-risk youth camps in Jamaica, Amizade volunteers have transformed and been transformed.
